　　东阳历史悠久，东汉兴平二年（公元195年）建县，迄今已有1800多年的历史，为省级历史文化名城。1988年经*批准，东阳撤县设市。东阳人文荟萃，英才辈出，如唐代冯宿、舒元舆，南宋乔行简，明末张国维等，近现代有北伐名将金佛庄、新闻先驱邵飘萍、科学泰斗严济慈、植物学家蔡希陶等。
