一般不用the reason of。
the reason for 常用固定搭配，后面可加动名词、名词或代词。
例如：I can see no reason for his behaviour.
或 Do you know the reason for his absence?
如果用reason of 那通常只用在by reason of这个短语中，这是个很正式的说法，意思是由于……。
例如：He was found not guilty by reason of insanity.他因为精神失常而被判定无罪。
reason作“理由，原因”讲时，通常作可数名词，其前常与for搭配；作“充足理由”讲时，为不可数名词，后面多跟不定式。（以下例句来自Longman）
