Objective: To explore the effectiveness and indication of Microendoscopic Disectomy (MED)
for the treatment of recurrent lumbar disc herniation.
Methodology: 11 cases of diagnosed recurrent lumbar disc herniation patients were given
MED operations; and 2-24 months follow-up was concted on the 11 patients.
Results: The 11 patients were evaluated according to the MacNab Criteria, the results were
excellent for 7 cases, good for 3 cases and fair for 1 case.
Conclusion: The results show that on the premise of definite diagnosis and strict adherence to
indication and contraindication, the treatment of recurrent lumbar disc herniation by
proficiently performing MED technology is very effective.
