Certificate是证书、文凭、发给证书的意思，certificate作名词表示证书、文凭、合格证书的意思，那作动词，可以表示发给证明书、用证书证明的意思，certificate总共可以划分为4个音节【cer】、【ti】、【fi】和【cate】，cer是开音节，发音为【s?】，第二个音节发音为【t?】，第三个音节发音为【f?】，第四个音节发音为【k?t】，重音在第二个音节上，也就是ti上，所以这个单词的读音是【s??t?f?k?t】，这是英式发音，美式要把r的音发出来【s?r?t?f?k?t】；
certificate的词根为certify，表示证明的意思，加上名词后缀ate，y变i再加c，用作证明的东西，就是证书，marriage certificate，结婚证，divorce certificate，离婚证，那学校发的证书是什么，当然毕业证，所以certificate也可以表示一个人的文凭，同样如果是企业的证书，就是许可证、合格证的意思，校长给我颁发毕业证，The headmaster certificated me，certificate你学会了吗？

certification和certificate都是名词，并且中文意思都是证明，不同的是两个词强调的主体是不一样的。certification强调的是出具证明的动作，为不可数名词；而certificate强调的是一份证明，为可数名词。
