As the enormous plane soared through the sapphire sky, I tried to imagine what Spain would be like. I wondered if it had streets full of enchanting guitarists and the most amazing restaurants. I wondered if this adventure would be liberating and refreshing. My adrenaline was pumped and I was ready to live a month in a new country. Touching down in Madrid, I wondered if I was ready for this or if I’d be homesick.
The first week I stayed in Madrid at a hotel. I was homesick after I called my friend. My two roommates were nice, but I missed my friends from home. I explored the city and had my first college-level class, all taught in Spanish. I saw a guitarist and many historically known places.
Then I traveled to Valencia, where I stayed on campus. It was an amazing life-style, and I loved the freedom. That was when my homesickness left me and I was ready to experience the world. For 2 weeks, I made friends and memories.
Barcelona was a beautiful city, but sadly the last place...

I stayed. I took a bus tour and roamed around the city.
As I boarded the plane and finally got back to America, my best friend on the trip and I hugged eachother.
I learned a lot about myself.
