New kind of students is in desperate need. Then what is new kind of students? Specifically, what I mean refers to the 5C students, who are curious, concentrated, creative, communicative and cooperative.
As the famous scientist Marie Curie says: “Curiosity is the first virtue of a man.” Many people succeed because of curiosity. Copernicus was curious about the machine which could tell time through the shadow. And then he made a similar machine to study the motion law of the sun and the earth. As a result, he put forward the heliocentric theory which went against geocentric theory. His practice told us that we are closer to the real world by explore with curiosity. And Watt improved the steam engine by observing the steam over the teakettle. This progress brought great changes to human lives. People stepped into the Age of Steam after that. Justus von Liebig was not curious about something special after he concted his experiment so he lost his access to the new element Bromine. To be curious needs you to be sensitive to the world.
Concentrated means you are supposed to open yourselves physically and soulfully. If you are absent minded, you may lose some important information. Then you are expected to mobilize the whole body to form a full image of what you are learned so that you can understand it fully. At last, concentrated means stick to your pursuit. Genius is ninety-nine percent inspirations and one percent perspiration. Edison failed over and over again to make a bulb. Never did he give up so he was known as the “King of the invention”. Failure is the mother of success. His famous saying is an appropriate conclusion to his life.
At any time, creation is shining in the river of words which are used to define the qualities of good students. We are told to learn things critically. For example, nowadays many US operas are famous. We could learn their casual attitude towards life apart from some idioms and expressions from them. However, there are also some immoral scenes which may have bad influence on you. You need to immune to those things. A more advanced layer of creation is to break through the shackles of convention, or we can say with another word innovation. Innovation means to think in a different way. When you are confronted with an issue, you could treat it at face value or you could seek the truth. And you can be optimistic or pessimistic about the same thing. Roosevelt once was stolen, but he felt happy. How could this happen? He thought it was lucky that he was not hurt. So don’t just fix your eyes upon the suffering. Try to think something different, and you would benefit a lot.
Good students are good at communication. Through communication you could breach the bridge between teachers and students and fill the gap between competitors. Through communication, you could have a better understanding of the present situation and you could get across your own idea.
The last but not the least, cooperation is necessary. Nowadays you could see that many Nobel Prize winners achieve such a peek not all by one person. People come from different countries or people good at different fields gather together to fulfill the same goal. One is not possible to be an all gifted person like Pandora. So we need cooperation to create a more bright future. And many schools and companies pay special attention to the ability of cooperation when they employ somebody. In such a high pace society, cooperation could improve work efficiency and bring more benefits. Learn to cooperate as soon as possible, and you won’t regret.
Try to be a 5C student, and you will be happier and healthier.
