Symmetry, an international, open-access academic journal (ISSN 2073-8994, IF: 2.645, CiteScore: 3.4), publishes research on symmetry and asymmetry in various fields such as mathematics, computer engineering, physics, biology, and chemistry. Led by Professor Sergei D. Odintsov from Spain, the journal is indexed in prestigious databases like SCIE and Scopus. In June 2021, a manuscript was submitted and later assigned to an editor for review on July 1st.
The review process began, lasting until August 3rd, with the manuscript under continuous scrutiny. During this time, a humorous oversight occurred when the author failed to respond to a confirmation of the article processing charge. However, a positive turn came on July 28th when an email revealed the status, which prompted a prompt reply to the editor.
A major revision was requested on August 3rd, with three reviewers providing feedback. Two reviewers gave favorable feedback, while one offered detailed suggestions. In a tight deadline, the author worked through the night to address these comments and resubmitted on August 6th.
The revised manuscript underwent another round of review between August 7th and 19th, with a decision made on August 19th. Initially, the author feared rejection, but ultimately received an acceptance notification. Fees were settled, and the manuscript was sent for English editing. With the final touches, the article is expected to go open access soon, completing a journey that began in November 2020 and culminated in an August 23rd publication, just in time for the author's graduate school application.
The author reflects on the process, emphasizing the satisfaction derived from the data analysis and coding, even amidst the iterative revisions. This publication serves as a memorable milestone in their academic career, a testament to perseverance and the pursuit of excellence.
