The story goes about Annie Kelty and father, Hamish Kelty,
owns a bookshop and keeps himself busy with secret deals.
Annie is in love with Calum, the cop.
One day, Annie saw her father outside the shop talking to a man.
They were arguing. When Hamish was away, Annie runs the shop.
But that day she had a date with Calum,
so she decided to ask Susie to look after the shop.
Two men came in the shop, Mr. Oswald and father O’Moy.
Mr. Oswald said he had arranged with Hamish to put aside
The first edition of the Woman in White.
and 300 pound-notes. Then father O’Moy change the real money to fake.
Two days later Annie’s father came back.
Next morning Calum came to tell Hamish, that the money was fake.
The same day there was terrible news at the television.
Father O’Moy also knows as Francis Moyan was killed in the Royal park.
Annie thought that her dad had done that.
A few days later Annie found dad’s shirt stained with dried blood
from the collar downwards. When her father cames in,
he said it was a nosebleed. His jacket was dirty too, and in his pocket
was a claps knife. Annie decided to solve the murder herself.
Annie went to all the store in Edinburgh to look for the stolen book.
She found the store of Katey Mills, there she saw the stolen book in the window.
Katey said that she had bought it from a young widow.
Later Susie and Annie went to a funeral, to see Mr. Oswald. But they didn’t see her.
Annie told Susie that Mr. Oswald might be a Woman, because of her hands.
She was right Mr. Oswald was a woman: Jane Oswald, the young widow.
Later on the news she heard that there was a witness,
Her father said he wasn’t guilty, but must leave this city till the murder is solved.
When he was away, Annie went a witness of the murder
to interview him, she found out that the green car was owned by Jane Oswald.
But the car had the address of Mrs. Moyan. She went to her home,
but Mrs. Moyan saws her and put her in the car.
She said to Annie, she had murdered Mr. Moyan,
and that she was on the way to the airport.
Mrs. Moyan put Annie in a mine shaft and drove away, but the police found her.
Calum and Hamish Kelty came out of the police car, to look for Annie
when they had found Annie, they took her home.
There Calum asked her there to marry him!
Jane Oswald went to prison for fraud and Beryl Moyan was put away for life.

The story I’ve read is called The Royal Park Murder. From the book name, it’s
not difficult to know this book is a mystery (推�0�6小�0�9). The story is about how the girl
called Annie found out the murderer and what have happened to her ring the
investigation (调查).
After reading this book, I find the story quite ordinary (普通). Like other
mysteries, the socalled
(所谓) suspect is always not the murderer at the end of the
story. Also, in reality (现实世界), a normal person will probably not take the risk to
investigate a murder case, instead, police should be the ones who take the
responsibility.
However, this book hasn’t let me down as the vivid (生动) description can let me
have a clear picture of each scene (场景). It does help me engage in (代入) the story.
And the relationship between Annie and Hamish who is Annie’s father makes
me realize (�0�8悟) the importance of family communication. If Hamish had told Annie
what he was doing, there would not have been any misunderstanding (误会). And
Annie would not have thought that he was the murderer. Actually, there are many
families similar to the one Annie and Hamish are living in. Youngsters are unwilling
(�0�3愿意) to talk to their parents who are busy for their work. As a result, many family
conflicts (家庭纠纷) and social problems like suicide (自�0�2) occur.
